A reissue rate is a reduction in title premium that is applied to an owner's policy in a purchase transaction if the property is determined to have had a prior title policy within a give period of time (reissue term). In Colorado the typical reissue term for for a reissue rate is 5 years. Most title insurance companies in Colorado provide this discount regardless of the title company that issued the previous policy.
Typical Reissue Rate Discount Scale
- Sold or refinanced within the last year - 50% discount
- Sold or refinanced within 2 years - 40% discount
- Sold or refinanced within 3 years - 30% discount
- Sold or refinanced within 4 years - 20% discount
- Sold or refinanced within 5 year - 10% discount
